New Road — Heritage You Can Wear.

The New Road T-Shirt honours the history, pride and resilience of North Preston — one of Canada’s oldest and largest Black communities.

Before it was formally named, the area was known as “New Road,” a name tied to hope, fresh starts and the path generations carved for themselves.

The design features collegiate-style “New Road” lettering, “Nova Scotia” and 1783, marking the arrival of Black Loyalists who settled in Nova Scotia after the American Revolution.

At the centre sits the North Star, a symbol of guidance, freedom and direction.

Heritage. Direction. Home.
